Sergio Fernandes leads Advus client in the fast growing area of Business Process Management (BPM) and Process Automation. He has been instrumental leading large-scale IT BPM implementation programs at Bank Itau impacting over 2,000 Systems Analysts. Sergio’s 20+ years of expertise includes complex project management, leadership and innovation for client projects at Cellular Telefonica River, Bradesco, Petrobras, Motorola, implementing new architecture standards, migrating to new software development platforms, building complete software change, quality assurance, and IT process automation requirements for compliance-based change control and component software development.

As a subject matter expert on both Continuous Improvement and Business Process Modeling and Metrics, Sergio has taken his initial expertise in IT core service areas to create an Advus Practice area that helps clients with the business/process transformation to support mergers and acquisitions and to create agile business/IT frameworks to manage change. This practice area includes Business Process Notation, Metrics, Simulation and client adoption of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Sergio is certified instructor for technical products such as the IBM Business Process Management suite of tools and he teaches at Managing Software Acquisition and Development Projects; and Software Engineering, at the University level.
